ELIGIBILITY                                                                                                                                                               

BASEBALL - Open to Boys and Girls currently in the 3rd through 12th grades

SOFTBALL - Open to Girls currently in the 3rd through 8th grades

JR. BASEBALL – Open to Boys and Girls currently in 1st and 2nd grades

T-BALL - Open to Boys and Girls currently in Kindergarten

 

DIVISIONS

         Each sport is divided into leagues. Tentatively, T-Ball will have one league for Kindergarten. Jr. Baseball will have one league for grades 1 and 2. Softball will have two leagues - one for grades 3, 4 and 5 and one for grades 6 through 8. Baseball will have four leagues – one for grades 3 and 4, one for grades 5 and 6, one for grades 7, 8 and 9 and one for grades 10, 11 and 12. The grades 7 through 12 baseball divisions will play on fields with 90-foot base paths.  All others will play on fields with 60-foot base paths. The league divisions are based on the number of players enrolled in each age group and may be adjusted if enrollment numbers differ from the forecast.

FEES-

Kindergarten-2nd grade boys and K-4th grade girls- $85 per player. All others -$115 per player.  Make checks payable to Community Athletics. No refunds after 2/26/08. Financial aid is available. All aid inquiries should be made to our Hot Line at 908-236-9574

 

CONTACT INFORMATION- Much of our communication with parents and coaches will be via e-mail. Please provide a working e-mail address that you check on a regular basis.

 

COACHES

All Coaches who are not already certified will be required to attend the Rutgers Sports Safety Clinic. The time, date and location have not yet been determined; check our web page and Hotline for updates. All volunteers will be subject to a criminal background check.

A mandatory coaching skills clinic will be held on Friday evening March 26 at 6 pm at Round Valley School.

 

UMPIRES

PAID umpiring positions are available for qualified adults and high school/college students. Details available on our web page or our Hotline.

 

SEASON

A coach will contact your child by March 31st and let them know the name of the team to which they have been assigned. Practice will start in early April. The season runs from mid April to mid June. Games will be played at facilities in the Clinton Township, Union Township, High Bridge and Franklin Township area. Most T-Ball and Jr.Baseball games are played on weekends and most Baseball and Softball games are on weekday evenings. Community Athletics requires that each child play at least half of each game.

 

TEAM SELECTION

In an attempt to create parity in the leagues, no guarantees will be made on team selection. Baseball players in 3rd through 12th grades and Softball players in 5th through 9th grades MUST be evaluated and placed based on their age and ability. Players in T-Ball, Jr. Baseball and 3rd and 4th Grade softball will not be evaluated. Evaluations on 3/14 at Round Valley School in Clinton Township – Rain or Shine. Schedule on other side. All players should make every attempt to attend evaluations. Players not attending evaluations will be allowed to play, but will be chosen at random and placed on teams.

Evaluations will be held at Round Valley School Gym – RAIN OR SHINE!!!

                                Players should report ready to play per the following schedule.

                                11:00 am 7th thru 9th Grade Boys        12:00 pm 10th thru 12th Grade Boys

                                1:00pm 5thth and 6th Grade Boys        2:00pm 3rd and 4th Grade Boys

                                3:00pm 5th through 9th Grade Girls

Players in T-Ball, Jr. Baseball and 3rd and 4th Grade softball will not be evaluated.

MARCH 15 th – MARCH 25th- Team Selections

                Managers/Coaches will be notified as to where and when the selection meetings will be held.

MARCH 25th- – Coaching Clinic- 6-9 pm Round Valley School Gym

MARCH 26th –Doyle Baseball  Player Clinic-Round Valley School Gym- Times to be announced

MARCH 27 th - Equipment and Uniform Pickup

                Equipment pickup will be held at Foran Field Complex located in Clinton Township on East Main St.

Managers/Coaches should report per the following schedule.

10:00 am T-Ball                11:00 am Junior Baseball

12:00 pm B Div. Baseball                12:30 pm A Div. Baseball

1:00 pm All Softball Divisions                2:00 pm AA and AAA Baseball

MARCH 31st- Player Notification

                All players should have received notification by this date. If for some reason you have not, contact the hotline for assistance.

 

APRIL 12th Season Start- The season will run from April 12th through June 22nd
